On June 8th, 2005 the ADA (American Dental Association) issued a press release titled "New Tooth Whitener Could Help Teeth" announcing that soon teeth whitening systems could actually enhance the teeth’s natural healing ability. The director of research for the American Dental Association's Paffenbarger Research Center in Gaithersburg, MD , Dr. Frederick Eichmiller, DDS, suggested the sensitivity that can sometimes be associated with teeth whitening could be diminished with the introduction of a whitening gel that actually aids to replenish essential minerals to the teeth.
Eichmiller added "It’s like having your cake and eating it, too, when it comes to teeth whitening", and also stated that human trials had substantiated the effectiveness of the technology.
